Much like the early years of HIV/AIDS, stigma related to Hepatitis C because of its association with drug use has resulted in a slow response to address the epidemic as a public health crisis. Although it is true that many people acquired Hepatitis C through injecting drugs, many  others were infected through blood transfusions. Some don’t know how they got it. Stigmas and misinformation surrounding Hepatitis C has kept people living with the disease from going public with their story. By telling his own story, Vic will break through the silence surrounding the Hepatitis C epidemic and show that, regardless of how you got the disease, you CAN conquer it.
